So I finally saw The Descendants, and yes obviously it was great (Alexander Payne has been on a run, since Election, that easily rivals - and often bests - any other American filmmaker working in the last decade), but the point I really wanted to make is this:
Who else thinks that a movie completely based around the adventures of Sid (Nick Krause, above) and Grandpa (Robert Forster) would be the greatest thing ever? You don’t even have to have a high concept - send them on a road trip, have them go to jail together, whatever - just put the two of them together in the same room onscreen for 90 minutes. Instant hilarity.
