TV MONTH: Mad Men (2007 - )

brightwalldarkroom:

WHAT YOU CALL ‘LOVE’ WAS INVENTED BY GUYS LIKE ME TO SELL NYLONS.

by Erica U.

The small tender heart of Mad Men isn’t obvious in the plot lines. It’s not in the divorces or the hasty marriages, the mergers or fledgling reinvented firms—as fun an amuse-bouche as those tasty tangents are.

Erica’s triumphant and gorgeously written return to BWDR after more than half a year is worth every second of your life you spend reading it. I’d like to say it took the power of Mad Men to finally get her back to the site—but her first pitch involved Jersey Shore, so maybe, more than anything, she just wanted to write about things on screens again. Whatever the reason, ‘tis cause for celebration!

This is the best piece you will read on Mad Men this year.

Whoa. A heads-up, this is really spoilery about Mad Men because that’s what the post is actually about. I don’t watch...
